Immolation - "Kingdom Of Conspiracy" (2013)

Strach przyznać, ale "Kingdom Of Conspiracy" jawi mi się jako pierwszy longplay Immolation, który nie wywołuje aż takiej ekscytacji jak poprzednie. Przy takim stażu i tylu zagranych trasach nie powinno to jednak specjalnie dziwić, trudno wymagać po nich non-stop jednakowej jakości i przełomu, nawet w obrębie swojego stylu. Tyle, że cóż im tym razem szkodziło wydać "Kingdom..." w formie...dwuczęściowej epki. Finansowo nic by przecież na tym nie stracili. 

Jak więc widać, niektórym nie idzie nigdy dogodzić, już przy "Providence" narzekałem, że tamto wydawnictwo powinno być pełniakiem, z kolei w przypadku omawianego krążka znacznie lepiej stałoby się, gdyby ujrzał on światło dzienne w mniej typowej formie. Jakkolwiek niczego złego czy niedorobionego Immole tu oczywiście nie nagrali, bo to nie ten adres. Wszystko jest na swoim miejscu, słychać znajome patenty, poziom wciąż jest nieosiągalny dla wielu, tyle, że...nie robi to już jakoś takiego wrażenia jak kiedyś. Przez całość obcowania z "Kingdom..." ma się trochę wrażenie, że to już nie ta pasja co przed laty i że grupie przydałoby się co nieco świeższych patentów. 

Nie pozostaje więc nic innego jak życzyć wszystkim takich słabszych longplayów. Każdy z utworów to i tak kawał znakomitego death metalu, potrafiącego zatrzymać na dłużej i mającego charakterystyczny dla Immolation ponury klimat. Tym razem, płyta wyłącznie zbiera najbardziej charakterystyczne (i najbardziej znane) elementy, które składają się na stylistykę zespołu, bez odkrywania siebie na nowo. I mnie też tym z początku nie przekonali, ale gwarantuję, że warto się przemóc i zmienić nastawienie. Jak na takiego "best ofa" przybranego w nowe kawałki, "Kingdom..." paradoksalnie potrafi zaciekawić i utrzymać uwagę. No a to już kwestia standardowo świetnie napisanych utworów. Godne polecenia wskazałbym tu "Echoes Of Despair", "God Complex" czy "A Spectacle Of Lies", ale tak naprawdę i pozostałe. Wszystkie trzymają jednakowo równy poziom. 

Gitarowo jak zwykle panowie Vigna i Taylor napędzają całość płyty, wtóruje im do tego charakterystyczny growl Rossa Dolana, a i perkusyjnie jest nie mniej gęsto niż na "Majesty And Decay". No ale dobra o tym już pisałem nie raz, toteż nie widzę sensu przypominania o takich oczywistościach. Najwięcej szumu za to wywołała produkcja na "Kingdom Of Conspiracy". Czy słusznie? Moim zdaniem nie. Podobną uzyskali już poprzednio na "Majesty...", a ta z "Kingdom..." niczym szczególnym nie zaskakuje. Mogłaby być tylko mniej plastikowa, a bardziej podziemna. Poza tym jednym szczegółem, to i tak kawał zajebistej muzyki. Mimo konserwatywnego podejścia zespołu trudno jest zarzucać "Kingdom Of Conspiracy" monotonię czy zastój. Przypominam, że to już dziewiąty krążek grupy.

Fearful to admit, but "Kingdom Of Conspiracy" appears to me as the first Immolation lp, which does not evoke as much excitement as the previous ones. With such an experience and so many tours played, it should not come as a surprise, it's difficult to demand the same quality and breakthrough all the time, even in terms of one's style. It's just that it was a pain for them to release "Kingdom..." this time in the form of...a two-part ep. They would not lose anything financially. 

As you can see, some people are never satisfied, already with "Providence" I complained that this release should be a full album, while in the case of this disc it would be much better if it released in a less typical form. However, they did not record anything bad or underdeveloped here, of course, because it's not their style. Everything is in its place, you can hear the familiar patents, the level is still unattainable for many, but...it does not make such an impression as it used to be. Throughout the whole listening to "Kingdom..." you get the impression that it is not the passion it used to be like years ago and that the group could use some newer patents. 

So there is nothing else but to wish everyone such weaker lps. Each track is a piece of excellent death metal, which can stay longer and has a gloomy atmosphere characteristic of Immolation. This time, the album only collects the most characteristic (and most famous) elements that make up the style of the band, without reinventing themself. And they did not convince me with this at the beginning, but I guarantee that it is worth overcoming and changing your attitude. As for such a "best of" created in new songs, "Kingdom..." paradoxically can arouse interest and keep attention. It's just a matter of great-written songs. I would recommend here "Echoes Of Despair", "God Complex" or "A Spectacle Of Lies", but also the others. They are all equally at the same level. 

Guitars by Vigna and Taylor, as usual, showed their majesty, they are accompanied by the characteristic growl of Ross Dolan, and drums are no worse than on "Majesty And Decay". Well, but I have already written about it more than once, so I do not see any point in reminding about such obvious things. The production on "Kingdom Of Conspiracy" caused the most hype. Is it right? In my opinion no. They have already obtained a similar one on "Majesty...", and the one from "Kingdom..." is not surprising in any way. It could only be less plastic and more underground. Apart from that one detail, it's a piece of awesome music anyway. Despite the conservative approach of the band, it is difficult to accuse "Kingdom Of Conspiracy" of monotony or stagnation. Let me remind you that this is the group's ninth album.
